To learn about Jean Rouch is to become acquainted with the wide circles of friendship, influence, and collaboration which spread outward from his life. From the articles and photographs he wrote with two friends in the 1940s under a combined version of their names (Jean Pierjean) to the filmmaking team of Da-La-Rou-Ta (Damouré Zika, Lam Ibrahima Dia, Jean Rouch, and Tallou Mouzourane), Rouch was all about collaboration.
