The Miami International Film Festival presents
Jean Rouch: A Celebration of Life and Film,
Miami, Florida
February 5-11, 2005

The Miami International Film Festival, in cooperation with the French Cultural Services, the University of Miami School of Communication and Miami-Dade College presents Jean Rouch: A Celebration of Life and Film. This tribute includes a symposium with world-renowned scholars and filmmakers, along with a number of Rouch’s close associates, as well as screenings of 9 of his major films and several films about him. Screenings and lectures are on Saturday, Feb 5 and Sunday, Feb 6 at the Cosford Cinema at the University of Miami and on Feb. 7-11 at the Wolfsonian-FIU. All sessions are free and open to the public. Tribute to Jean Rouch; The Camera as Poetry and Truth

The International Film Festival in Guadalajara, with the contribution of the University of Guadalajara and the Commission on Visual Anthropology Mexico, kindly invite you to the Tribute in honor of the great French filmmaker Jean Rouch, to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from the 7th to the 11th of March, 2005. This Tribute will have screenings of Jean Rouch's main films, as well as documentaries about the work and personality of the filmmaker. The program includes: a workshop, lectures, round tables and general discussions about Jean Rouch's films, his filmmaking techniques, and his contributions to "cinéma-vérité."

24th Ethnographic Film Panorama at the Musée de l'Homme
